I grew up on a boatyard in Wroxham, and divided my time between messing about in boats and the creative mess in my bedroom where I wielded scissors and glue, needles, thread and wool, dressing my dolls and making models. The creativity continued into adulthood and family life but it was only when my children had flown the nest that I took the giant step onto a Degree course in Visual Studies at the then Norwich School of Art and Design (now NUA) where as part of my research I discovered needle felting.
With the degree under my belt I ventured into cyber space, creating my virtual world, the Planet Penny website. It’s here I share my enthusiasm for creating and making as well as the joys of living in this particular corner of Norfolk.
Colour influences my creativity hugely, as demonstrated in both my needlefelt and pattern design work.
As well as enjoying creativity for my own pleasure I also love to pass my needlefelting skills on to others. To find out more about the workshops I have coming up next year please click on the link below, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
